Helping with the OFC Dinner & Auction

Recently, we were able to donate two small projects to a silent auction which benefitted Our Father’s Children, an organization which exists to reach out to children of abuse and neglect in North Texas.  Every spring OFC hosts a large dinner and auction to help raise funds for their work.  Several of us here at Build have helped support the organization over the years and we were more than happy to contribute again.

The first of the two projects was a simple box which contains a familiar block stacking game.  Made from pine, this set is simple and appealing and contains an excellent game for parties and gatherings.

The second of the items was a matching cutting board and magnetic knife holder combo.  Another project within the means of many the woodworker.

How strong are the magnets, you ask?   Better question - Do any of your knives weigh more than this wrench?

Never overlook polish and presentation.

Both pieces sold at the auction, and we’d like to believe a fierce bidding war took place. In the end, we’re just happy to have helped OFC. They are good people doing good work.  If you’d like to know more about their organization and how you can help the life of a North Texas child, check out www.ourfatherschildren.org

If you’d like either of these pieces for yourself, we’ll happily build them for you.  Or if you’re feeling more daring, come talk to us.  We’ll set up a class and guide you through making your own.
